Default Re: Carburetor Options

I had used a gps and got 46mph out of mine when I had a bad head gasket. Got that fixed put in pistons and time now with a nurex wrench. At top end I can find a sweet spot of timing about 2 clicks from all the way down and add a little more gav for a a couple miles more. I havent gps'ed again but it feels like mid forties. I have a fordor and im thinking the extra weight may be slowing me down. I have a tillotson carb and a B cam(late production diamond block). Seems to run just fine gets right up to that speed in about 1/8 of a mile. If fordor's are capalble of 60 I may have a lower rear gear. Ive gone through most things on the car. cleaned out fuel strainers replaced all valves during my rebuild. runs great she just isnt too fast on top.
