I put 3 point belts in my '40 coupe in the early '90's. As I remember, there was only the body sheet metal turned from the door opening and the quarter window opening to form the inner face of the B pillar. I do remember being concerned if the sheet metal would tear away in a crash. I'm thankful that we drove the car for 20 years across the southeast with no need to test them.
