It's time to do your homework. The 59 and earler blckd had split guides. Which leaked like a sive. The 8ba has a solid guide an 11/32 stem withha aseal around the guide. All this was state of the art in the early 50s. Today we use solid guides in all our blocks abd sometimes kurrell the guides or install bronze incerts. Now that sealents are available a thin coating around the guideis all that necessary to seal it. OR, you can use the ols rubber seal. In any case the guides will seal themselves as everine knows wen they try to remove them
