The studs had to have been swaged to hold the stud to the drum and the drum to the protruding swaged on the stud.

The drum stud holes were held tightly (pressed) to the hub on those sages unlike the CHEV of the time. You pulled a wheel off one on those and the drum fell free and hit your foot.
