• Exactly which year vehicle are we discussing on your original post?.....
• Which hood edge are we actually talking about?.....
• What are you calling engine side panels? The sides of the hood, or possibly the inner fender panels?
It's tough to answer questions without proper identification of parts/pieces, and year of manufacture.
