The F4 was a good solid 1-ton+ truck. If that engine is a 430 or even a 383/410 then it's kind of a unique set up. The transmission is likely an old Lincoln large case Cruise-O-Matic but that's only speculation. It's rough like any old truck that has been setting out for years so the price will reflect that. Most folks looking for old F series trucks, would want the flathead V8 but the truck may have had a 6-cylinder originally. The VIN number would tell that story.


My Pop's first grain truck after he took over the family farm was a 1948 F-6. Pop traded it in on a new dual tandem truck in 1977 and that poor truck stayed behind the Ford dealer for 25-years since no one wanted to buy it. My pop though about buying it back a few times but farming was a busy process so it never happened.
