here's something to try that won't cost you a dime. Next time it doesn't start put a jumper wire between the battery and the post on the coil, crank it with the starter button. The resistor sometimes has too much resistance after it gets hot. Ford put a starter by-pass on cars sometime in the 50's. Turn the key on and take the wire off after it starts, good luck, Chuck.
