Some things never change! They still have those double-decker tour buses driving by Rockefeller Center, full of tourists gawking at the skyscrapers.
Did you know that before it was fully built out, Rockefeller center had a parking lot? Look at the photo at the bottom of this page:

This book is a very interesting read. It was a spinoff of the famous "Futurama" exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair.
