There should be some space between the spring plate and the mount. The plate is only spring in case the motor bounces down against it. If you mount it with the mount solid against the plate, you defeat the purpose of the 2 springs on top and the single spring on the bottom. If you are intent on it touching, you can tighten the bottom nut enough to have it touch.
