The seal between the rubber seal and the body I used 3M black Strip-Calk part number 051135-08578 which shows on the package this type of application.


In addition, this rope type calk does not get hard with age and is a great seal. It is like modeling clay and you can roll it into strips and is easy to install.


I talked to a company that cuts auto glass windows and installs them. The owner had many years of experience and he told me never to use silicon caulk between the steel body and any glass, since he claimed silicon will hold moisture and promote rust.
