Tom, seeing you are from Tomball, there was a boatload of those things sold by Tommy Trailor to the Houston guys back in the 70s & 80s. They typically did well in the beginning however what happened on several tours is the car owner would not keep the brakes in adjustment and the silly things would go over center and lock the brake shoes tight against the drum. Once or twice I remember everyone on the tour trying to push & winch the disabled A back onto a trouble trailer with the wheel just sliding. The only way to get them unstuck was to torch a hole in the brake drum and stick a screwdriver in there to pry it back up.
