Where is it cracking? In the bottom corners? Maybe not enough clearance at edge of glass to bottom of channel.If your frame has a bow to it you need to get it out or you will continue having problems.I had to replace my 36 coupe windshield .I bought one from Drake(comes with gasket).I reused the old glass after carefully taking it out of the rusty frame.Instead of using glass setting tape I used the black silicone that glass shops use.Kinda a gooey mess but when all dries it cleaned up well with a new razor blade.Installed the assy and had no leaks,opening & shutting or other issues at all .
