Graeme, the sump pan was ex military stock so probably English and maybe pre-dating Pilot. It should use a lucas starter but I had (some time ago) opened the hole out to suit a USA spec starter. the The French flywheel has the correct tooth count to match the USA spec starter. Something to watch for is that the teeth are cut differently on some French motors. the ones on this flywheel were cut the right way.
