Yes, I was thinking he wanted to change the clutch also. The only way to use a 5/8" drive with a multiplate flywheel is to make sure the outside diameter of the flywheel has the clearance cut for the larger drive. The "SERVICE DRIVE", which came out in August or September 1928 is still a 1/2" drive, and the starter needs to be modified as shown in the SERVICE BULLETINS. I'll have to see if the second style multiplate flywheel has the needed clearance for the 5/8" starter, but I can't do that for some time, as I'm busy with generators, and would have to dig out the flywheel from wherever it's stored.
