at work here i have an old hacked off 32 grill hanging.
heres some crude measurements.
11.5 down from where i measured.

7/8 or 1" in to hole center.
the hole itself is a strong 7/8"

i suppose somebody got a new torch for Christmas in the 60s and tried it out on this grill.
