As mentioned above there are two style of regulators, early 6 bolt and later 8 bolt. The window winder position was changed when the door handle was relocated. Here are a couple of pictures of the two door versions, so your friend can determine which style he has. I also thought I had some pictures of the two different regulators; but can't find any now.

edit; Was looking thru some pictures and found another variation on one of them I hadn't noticed before; '35 door with the rear latch handle position; but with the 6 bolt regulator and rear position of the winder. Also no provision for the 8 bolt regulator.
