1928 transmission case lacking holes for throw out carrier
I've built up the best of a few transmissions and I'm re-assembling one on the bench right now.
Turns out, my best candidate is an early transmission case that lacks the 4 mounting holes for the throw out bearing carrier/snout.
I haven't found how the carrier is attached on a 1928, but I'm considering drilling/tapping the case to accept the 4 bolts for the snout that I have.
Is the early case valuable/desirable without these holes? I don't want to ruin something rare that could be of use to a meticulous restorer.
