what size truck? big trucks often have been run to death, check what is left of the tailpipe/muffler for deposits. what dos the oil look like? drain some oil off the bottom of the engine, look for water, heavy sludge deposits, pull the plugs and look for soot, etc on them indicating hard oil consumption. good, rebuidable 59ab blocks bring $500 around here
