I'd be curious as to what this person actually purchased. For $10k I doubt it was anything particularly rare or valuable. I'm sure Don has enough contacts in SoCal that would have quickly cleaned him out that stuff for pennies on the dollar.
Parts leaving the country don't sadden me. The guys down under appreciate the old Ford and speed stuff.
FWIW, your ad had no way of contacting Don. I'm sure many people also simply assumed the amount would have been out of reach given what he was known to have had, and thought there was no point in trying to contact him since it was likely to be out of their price ranges.
