There are some other threads that talk about muffler heat deflectors and also about the exhaust manifold pipe having a heat deflector also. But this is all aftermarket owner fabricated stuff. Plus I think Macs sells a muffler heat baffle.

Others have done as you have and sealed up the floor with insulation, there is a thread I saw on that too! Use the "search" tool.
