Default Re: Replace steering box

Although not very exciting, why don't you try making the existing steering and suspension system PERFECT. You are going to need to do most of this anyway. The word "perfect" means what it means, everything in the system brought up to original specs and tolerances. There are lots of NOS parts to help you with this. As mentioned, radial tires are a big help. If you don't believe this, find a Ford friend with an early V8 that does have perfect steering and go for a ride or get him to let you drive it. My 32 and 40 are both bone stock (with radial tires) and drive like a dream. Remember that any non power steering car will be hard to maneuver at no speed. No one parallel parks anymore , so that should not be the issue. Besides, making something perfect is a fun project. Give it a try first.
My opinion and experience
