Torquing to 45 ft. lbs. when installing ends up around 40 ft. lbs. after everything seats. If it makes you cringe, use less torque. That's OK. Remember, the factory didn't use torque wrenches, they just wrenched them very tight. If you see them putting the manifolds on in the assembly line video, they look like they're putting a lot more torque on them than I do.

Mine is going back together tomorrow with the type copper gaskets you used. I've never used a sealer on the manifold gaskets but I've had exhaust leaks to deal with. So, I'm going to use Permatex Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone along with gland rings. The 45ft.lbs. does make me a bit nervous...we'll see. The gasket I'm replacing has the same blow out on #4 as yours did.

I'll be using a bead of Permatex Muffler & Tailpipe Sealer on the muffler flange.
