1) It is a standard right hand thread ( Clockwise to tighten , counter clockwise to loosen)
2) Brattons catalog suggests 100 ft lbs ( which I reckon is very very tight!)
3) A popular method is to jam a old cloth rag in the teeth ( or a piece of wood has been suggested)
