While I am not speaking for the host group, I would venture a guess in that there are still many meetings with the host club members, and with area vendors & the local tour stops that still need to be made. Losing even a few weeks of not being able to coordinate and meet with people to finalize contractual details is likely the reason.
The 2nd side of this that many forget is this is a huge financial risk for the event hosts. The National Club does not underwrite the finances of this event, -and if the turnout is poor, it can cost the host club many thousands of dollars. Several years ago, the MARC National Meet in San Diego had a poor turnout and the losses were huge. Why should these folks hosting the event take a chance when there is still uncertainty and unrest?
