Right, but this is what they were trying to get away from as cutting the plane up like sliced bread they thought would be neater and faster allowing less bent metal to pick through for salvage.

Several different ideas were tossed around from pneumatic cutters to a big band saw on tracks. Guess they decided to stick with the blade and crane.
