Back in the late 40's and 50's parts stores all over the country rebuilt distributors and other parts. I knew one guy that worked for a store that had stores in Pa. and a few in Fl. About 25 years ago in the Fl. store he told me that when in Pa. they got rid of all the old distributor parts at a dump. He said the parts like points and condensers came in large cardboard drums and he took drums of parts and spread them out. There are still large numbers of parts like these that surface all the time. They still look brand new and I suspect a lot of these condenser failures are very old stock VOS (new term).
