Ford used both 8-32 and 10-32 sizes, however as mentioned above most were 8-32’s and most aftermarket and service replacements had 10-32. Most of the originals are nickel or cadmium plated brass, but I have encountered many on service parts that were plain brass. The 42-48’s also used a special washer beneath the nut on one of the studs to retain the resistor block on top of the coil.
