No interchange? Simple enough...
Coils were produced with both #8 as well as #10 threaded studs. With respect to '42 -'48, I do not know the time frame nor the reason this was so.

Factory installed coils in '39 & '40 utilized (only) #8 studs. Service parts were supplied in both #8 and #10.
