The Waltham is a good speedometer, not as easy to work on as a Stewart Warner. There is only one means of calibrating the speed, whereas the Stewart has 2 adjustments. This makes the calibration easier and more accurate top to bottom. The yellow on the backround I believe is the change in color of the clear lacquer the factory put on top of the silk screened numbers to protect them. I have tried to use denatured alky to clean them and ended up wiping the yellow off and also the black number. If you need help, contact me.
