I decided to do my own test. I hung a 36 LB crank from the floor joist in the basement and stood another one on a plywood piece on the basement floor . Just as I was to close the lights , the one standing toppled over and banged my big toe! I jumped in pain then hit my head on the hung one on the joists! My doctor recommended to put the cranks in the spare blocks .
