I have done this correctly more than a few times. The last (does this qualify as a "senior" moment?) Whole front of the car supported by the engine pull rig hanging in the air.

ARG - &8%$/#@! WHY WON'T THIS DERN THING COME OUT!

A break, a beer (ice tea for me) and a thought - "Um - I bet..."

I forgot to remove the wish-bone retainer and release it from the front axle.

It helps following written instructions - sometimes.
