For Sale: 1933 1934 Ford Roadster Phaeton Hinge Nut Retainers. These are a exact copy of the original in every way. All holes are punched and the sides are shear cut. They go behind the wood of the doors and B pillar wood at the top hinge. There were 6 on every car. None were used at the casting. There job was to keep the SQUARE nut from rotating. The story I got was that the wood would expand and contract with the seasons. So the door hinges could be tightened up without the nut slipping and without having to remove the door panel. No screws or nuts are included in the sale. There just shown in the photos for you to see how they work. Screws and nuts are standard and can be purchase at any hardware supply. You get 6 nut retainers even though only four are shown. Price is $75.00 for 6 plus $3.00 shipping in the USA. I do not have any made right now.
