Yup, every year at this time, the constant big winds arrive. High sustained winds are necessary for the fierce/massive damage that is often done. I've been in the middle of these fires as a younger man. While I've learned a lot from such experiences, there are a couple of lasting thoughts. I've learned that people of means can choose to and do live in areas that have been burned over/over again. I've learned to be thankful that I'm not in that category(my silver lining), or I might be living in the 'hills' above the masses also

Lots of old cars are all over SoCal. Undoubtedly , some will be lost in these fires.
