I have one of these $20 from Amazon digital Tachometer and it works great. Comes with a case and lots of reflective tape. Just put a small piece of the tape on the front pulley and point the red laser at the tape...
Only oops I found is that it is best to unplug the 9vt. battery between uses. Chap
