Default Re: Rayfield RIF Carburetor

Hello Joe,

I was also fortunate to find one a couple years ago in an old guys barn covered with oil and straw, he had a Craigslist Listing for some "A" parts. I thought it was kind neat, so I cleaned it up, fixed the float, float valve, and made a new gasket for it. I bolted it to my tired 30 coupe and it ran as good as a few of my Zeniths. I just had to get a new gas line and bend it just right to fit. These carburetors will built by the Marvel Carburetor Company of Flint, Michigan. They are somewhat rare from what I've read in a couple articles. I found two articles, one in The Restorer, Volume 40, Issue 3, September/October 1995, and a more recent article in the Model A News, March-April 2017. These carbs were designed to run on Model A's & B's. The carburetor was expensive to produce, so that is probably why they are rare. Bolt it on and give it a go with the "high-speed enrichment jet".

Good luck, Kyle
