Default Re: Starter wrap

starter wrap on a V8, 39,49 or even 59 I never ran across that one, BUT once I had a
C80 with 427 GMC (truck engine) not only wrapping the starter but we had to put
boot shields on the plug wires; asbestos shields I also think the 366 truck engines also
suffered from this. Flatheads don't suffer from this. My V8 whips over like 12vts
from 0 degrees to in the 90's. I bought a new 1970 coupe deville loved the color it was
like Olive inside and out black top even 8 track tape. Any highway 65 speed limit them
days on interstate pull off for snack or fuel and ruh, ruh, ruh, like dead battery gotta
wait an hour. Poor car with only about 2500 miles traded for a new Lincoln - problem
solved. Maybe you have the ""hot supper Caddy syndrome"" anyone of age can remember not to race a Caddilac and shut her off, like a compression lock. My fresh
46 V8 slowly crept into this thought my new battery was junk napa gave me a new
commercial 6 vt batt same thing IT was the start solenoid even thought it was new made across the pond - and what do they know about USA flatheads they don't even
know how to read a tape measure LOL just a rambln on a dreary day. sam
