I just purchased a set of 6.00x16 Double whitewall radials from Diamond Back and they are great, that is except for the spare. It sticks out from under the cover by about half an in.

I had the same situation with my 34 Buick coupe. I did away with the
spare tire cover and purchased a whitewall spare. I used the hub cap also,
and IMO it looked as good if not better than the spare with cover.
