I think you should practice being more upset. That is a very valuable car, possibly in 6 figures depending on configuration and condition. Take care where you get it repaired; most "body shops" are not up to it. There are details like bonding strips and even the color of the bare fiberglass panels used (if any) that are very important.

You should be aware of the fact that '63 Corvettes are a lot like '32 Fords in that they were the "first of the breed" and underwent running changes throughout the year. A part for a car made in March may be completely different than one from a November car. They are hard to restore because of parts availability and variability.

Again, since it's a split window, it's a very desirable car. Please protect you wife's investment properly.
