It helps enamel cure big time. Sometimes I even pre-heat the parts with the heat gun. Super durable. I use it on firearms quite a bit. I did this on a crappy set of combination wrenches, and it's a really tough finish. Those wrenches are still looking good after getting knocked around for over 5 years.
I'm getting to the point where I use engine enamel with ceramic (VHT) for most of my rattle can needs.
