Default Re: Towed another one home today

Today drained the oil, pulled the dizzy and the carb. Dizzy is like new. Plugs are brand new just old. Brakes are stuck, shocks still move. Drivers rear wheel the drum is loose.[/QUOTE]

In the 70's I bought a 1950 Studebaker Champion that had been parked outside for many years. I hooked up my towbar and 2 of the tires were skidding. Once I dragged it out of the yard to the blacktop I went forward and backward a couple feet and the brakes came loose. It towed 50 miles home just fine.

Hammering the backing plate will often loosen stuck brake shoes.
