Well, thanks a lot for drawing my attention.
Went to look at my column mount and discovered gasoline stains where it had been seeping around the tank-to-clamp gasket. I haven't put any gas in it yet, so better to find it now than later.
Since a new gas tank, column mount, steering column and horn rod are definitely not in my future, I'll clean up the area with sandpaper and slobber silicone caulk around the edge and hope for the best.
Wish they had made that improvement earlier.
