My Dad had my '36 PU since the mid 50's, I got my '42 in the mid 90's.
My Dad gave the '36 to the neighbor for "rent" when he stayed at his place in the Bay Area welding in the ship yards, actually gave him 2 '36 PU's.
Anyways, in the late '70's the neighbor had used the best parts of the two to make one for his son, but the guy doing the work kept stealing from him (seem the guy's brother had a '36 PU as well)...the last straw for the neighbor was when the went to test run the '36 in the driveway...it had a SBC and Muncie 4speed in it at the time...

Seems it was real easy to slide the gear shift around..on a freshly rebuilt tranny....they pulled the tranny...odd, it was pretty light, the guy doing the work pulled all the gears/bears/etc out of it, cluged up something for an output shaft...and split.

The neighbor called me and said "Mike, you want them 2 '36 PU's?"...I said "sure",

He said "Then get your @ss down here and get them"!!
