Thanks for the praise ! There was I thinking I'd broken all the rules !
The copper tubing.....I think I opened a thread on this sometime back......fill up the radiator and drive the car. Coolant expands and when it cools it contracts and generally speaking the level is BELOW the top of the radiator. So I removed the rear fixing bolt from the water pump, machined a sight glass assembly out of brass. The small bore copper tube then vents in to the top of the radiator tank.
Open the bonnet (hood) and you have a quick visual check
and off you go !
Simple really !
