He said that it should not be a disc issue using the one I got from him, he has had no issues with those.
So I guess I will try that arm first when I get a chance to work on it again.

Lots of choices available. It's easy to see that if you used one that is too LONG, it may not afford enough rotation at the shaft to disengage the clutch. DD
