I'm gonna make a guess... My 03 GC is a 6 cyl, and does NOT have a D44. Perhaps it's V8 GC's that have the Dana 44 ?? Or maybe it's MODEL related. Mine is a Laredo.
And, to Anthony, above, My GC DOES have disc brakes on the rear. And, it's 4x4, if that makes any difference. (There is such a thing as 2wd, although VERY rarely seen around my parts.)
