Stumble off idle? First check that both accelerator pumps are putting out a good stream in both barrels. If leather plungers, try a drop or two of motor oil on the accelerator pump shaft where it goes into the top of the carb. If cold weather, put the accelerator pumps on the winter attach point (the one further out, with the longer stroke).

On the subject of jets, .041 seems very lean for low altitude. I had my 3x2 97's jetted at stock .045 and went to .047 because the plugs looked like the engine was running lean.
