Re: Oil pump p/up to pan clearance
That breather should be mounted on the drivers side near the tp ton the pan. On our stock car I extended the pan under the starter about 6" to collect the oil during the corners, with 1/2" clearance . WE also had a form of windage tray welded to the inside of the pan. Can't take credit for this, I copied it from a magazine article.
