At first, I thought it would be awkward to have two levers on the left and have them different lengths. but you get used to it real fast. It really does not create a problem for me at all. I also mounted my turn signal switch about an inch down the column from the advance.

I would not make any modifications to any of the existing features of the car simply to accommodate a turn signal switch. That being said, many have cleverly hidden the switch and the indicator lights. bu I have not gone that far for mine, but mine is not a show car. 95% of all the model A's I have seen just have the switch mounted on the column.
