I do not have enough thread for the castle nut to seat. Typ nut & washer.
My drum is covering the backing plate with about 1/4” of plate edge showing.
About 1/8 shy.......wrong seal maybe? But the bearings seem like they are seated.....

OK, do your drums look like this '46-'48 with exposed flange?
Do your spindles look like these "round backs"? DD
