That spring has been on a car with weight on it for 90 years. It’s rusted badly, and you know what, it could break once you start driving.

There are some things that sanding and a coat of paint will not make like new. Springs are very important.

It’s time has come, replace it. One less thing to worry about. Enjoy.

Unless I could be 100% assured that a new spring was not made in China I would take my chances with a 90 year old spring.
